The mechanical precision and overly perfect nature of today's Ming fonts have reached a limit, creating something divine rather than human. The designer's principle has always been to create humanistic fonts that balance innovation with gentleness. Qing Xin Ming, while based on Ming style, incorporates elements of Song style, demonstrates characteristics of both styles.
The design balances the firmness of woodblock carved scripts with the smoothness of brush strokes. Horizontal strokes are slightly thickened for contrast with vertical strokes, while reduced triangular serifs at stroke endings reflect Song style's elegance without losing Ming style's character. Slightly slanted horizontals and natural verticals reduce mechanical rigidity. Inspired by Tang Dynasty's Ou style, extended rightward strokes enhance character-to-character flow.
